What do you need to know?

Self-Managed FAQ’s:

If you’re contemplating booking one of our self-managed activities but have some questions or niggles – we’ve put together some of the most frequently asked questions we get asked!

Take a look at the questions below, and if you’re still confused, get in touch:

How does it work?

While our fully managed events are played using the iPads we provide, and delivered by our team of experienced event managers – our self-managed activities offer the same event themes, but played on your own smart devices…and without the addition of our events team. Meaning you can book them at a fraction of the price – perfect for when budgets are tight!

When you’ve selected an event theme and a venue/location one of our project managers will send you all the information you need to get set up on the day of your activity. They’ll also be available over the phone during your event in case you get stuck, have any questions or experience technical issues. So you don’t need to worry about trying to organise a technology-based event all by yourself.

Where do I start?

There’s no specific starting point for any of our self-managed activities. You can start anywhere around your venue or chosen location. If you’re in a town or city we recommend picking a pub as your meeting point and heading off in your teams from there!

Where do I finish?

Like with starting points, there’s no designated finishing points for our activities! You can always arrange a meeting point such as a pub or restaurant for a specific time, to signify the end of your activity. This works particularly well if you’re planning to incorporate the activity into a team social or dinner.

How much is it?

Our self-run activities have a setup fee and then a per person charge. There are lots of add-ons you can choose from, custom content and even a remote support option which gives you an event manager to score real-time and be on hand for any troubleshooting.

How many people per team?

Because you’ll be playing on one device per team, we always recommend teams of up to 5 people, this gives everyone a fair chance of getting involved! There are no minimum numbers though, so if you wanted to compete in smaller teams then go for it!

How long do I have?

There isn’t a definitive time limit for our activities – it usually takes teams 2 – 2.5 hours to make their way to all the hotspots and complete the challenges, but that doesn’t mean to say it can’t be done faster or slower. If you’ve got a tight window for your activity for example, as part of a conference agenda or as an icebreaker, speak to us! Our creative team will be able to condense all of the fun into a smaller amount of time.

Is there a specific route?

Nope! When teams join the activity via the app, you’ll see a series of hotspots in the on-screen map. You can head to these in any order you like, although some teams do decide to come up with a bit of a strategy for reaching them all eg. heading to the farthest ones first.
